If you have ever asked someone where to get good ribs on the peninsula, residents would not be able to reply because frankly there are no barbaque places in the area. Well that changed in 2008 when Jason Mackwood opened up Mack’s BBQ in San Carlos.
Mack’s BBQ is located at the very end of Laurel Street near the Carl’s Junior in Redwood City.
The menu items are slowly smoked, ensuring the juicy outcome of the ribs. Their sides include Mac n’ cheese, cole slaw, potatoe salad, baked beans, salad, and cornbread. The mac n’ cheese isn’t average. Infused in the cheese are smoked bacon bits to add a crunch, as well as another taste for your pallet.
The restaurant features inside, in front, and patio seating, allowing customers to choose from a variety of places to eat.
On the walls of the restaurant are dozens of funky signs ranging from highway to classic american gas signs. Also adorned on the wall behind the cash register are two life sized heads, a mohawk buffalo and a wild boar eating a hotdog bun.
