Last week, junior Kelly Robinson was elected as ASB president for Carlmont.
Robinson only had to defeat one opponent in her race toward ASB president, junior Mindy Yasuda. Even though it was a close match, Robinson emerged victorious in the end.
Senior Gino Ferrario is currently ASB president but he will hand over these duties to Robinson after the end of this school year.
Many students have concluded that this election was merely a popularity contest because the election lacked the usually campaign speeches made by video.
In spite of these negative thoughts , Robinson has assured us of her good intentions.
Robinson stated, “My main goal is to have a positive influence on the students and do anything and everything to better the school and work to satisfy the student body along the way.”
She also commented, “I wanted to become the student body president because it will allow me to have the opportunity to be involved in all the different events the school has to offer.”
New officers are elected for every grade each year. Future sophomores, juniors, and seniors have elections in March, while freshman class officers are elected after their arrival to this new and exciting school.
