George H.W. Bush dies
George H.W. Bush passed away at the age of 94 on Nov. 30, 2018, just sixth months after the death of his wife, Barbara Bush.
Bush died surrounded by his family at his home in Houston. Throughout the years, he battled a variety of health issues. Within 2018 alone, Bush was admitted to the hospital twice due to bouts of pneumonia.
According to CNN, Bush will lie in state at the U.S. Capitol prior to a memorial service at the National Cathedral in Washington D.C.. Bush will also have a second memorial service at a church in Houston.
He will be buried at the George H.W. Bush Presidential Library next to Barbara Bush and his daughter, Robin Bush.
His last words were “I love you, too.”
Packers head coach fired
The Green Bay Packers’ head coach, Mike McCarthy, has been fired after 13 seasons. President Mark Murphy announced the decision after the Packers lost in a game against the Arizona Cardinals.
In a statement, Murphy said, “The 2018 season has not lived up to the expectations and standards of the Green Bay Packers. As a result, I made the difficult decision to relieve Mike McCarthy of his role as head coach, effective immediately.”
During his tenure, McCarthy won five NFC North Titles and Super Bowl XLV.
Offensive coordinator Joe Philbin has been named the interim head coach.
Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas wed
Breaking the hearts of millions of Jonas Brothers fans around the world, Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas wed in India on Dec. 1, 2018.
The couple exchanged vows twice, once in a traditional Christian ceremony officiated by the grooms’ father, Kevin Jonas Sr., and again in a traditional Hindu ceremony.
Their wedding comes after a whirlwind romance. Jonas proposed in July, just two months after the two had begun dating in May.
