The wait is finally over.
This week Carlmont will have their yearly prom on Friday, May 1 at the Academy of Sciences. The dance is from 9 p.m. to 12 p.m. and is only an upperclassmen dance.
Like every other year, prom is an exciting time for students. It’s a count down to the end of the school year for students and a countdown to graduation for seniors.
“After prom we only have about three or four weeks left,” said junior Tyler Brandenburg.
Like all prom dances, students can’t wait to go for their first time or their second time.
“I have heard from people who have gone before that it is the best dance they have ever been to. I can’t wait to go,” said junior Daniel Morrow.
There has been a big anticipation as usual for prom. The past month, their have been many promposals where guys or girls have gone over the top to ask the person they want to go with.
“One thing that makes prom fun is the promposals. Guys try to come up with the best idea so they can make it impossible for girls to say no,” said junior Isabelle De Wood.
Along with the promposals, people have been renting tuxedos and getting dresses for the big event.
“People always want to be dressed out from the event. Guys wear really nice tux’ and girls wear pretty dresses,” said De Wood.
Guys can go to places like Men’s Wearhouse or Joseph A. Bank to rent tux’ while girls can buy dresses online or go to Trudy’s.
So after all the promposals and buying tux’ or dresses, people are just excited to go out and have fun.
“I can’t wait for prom. Since it’s my senior year, I’m planning to make it a night to remember,” said senior Joe Rodriguez.
