As spring is nearing and the weather is getting nicer, many Carlmont students’ wardrobes are changing dramatically.
The skirt has come back into style, but not the A-line, miniskirt, or poodle skirt, but the maxi skirt and the high-low skirt.
The maxi skirt is a skirt usually made out of cotton that flows to the ankles. It comes in many different colors and styles.
The high-low skirt is a skirt that goes down to the feet in the back, but comes up to about thigh-length in the front. There are also high-low dresses, which were a big hit at Carlmont’s Winter Formal this past January.
Freshman Madison Bolich likes to wear maxi skirts to school. “I wear maxi skirts because they are cute, fashionable, comfortable, and stylish,” said Bolich. “You can wear any type of shirt with it and you can match them with heels, flats, or wedges. I personally like wearing them with loose tank tops that I can tie to the side.”
Sophomore Adrianna Boubalos wears them for similar reasons.
“They work in hot and cold weather so for me I can wear them all year round.”
These skirts are also very reasonably priced.
“On average, they’re about $20-$30,” said Boubalos.
Not only are are the prices great, but they’re sold close to Carlmont.
“You can buy them at PacSun and Forever 21,” said Boubalos. “They usually sell them at Hillsdale mall.”
