Junior varsity basketball tryouts are over and practice is beginning. Lots of people tried out but only 18 survived the cut. The team consists of only about 11 freshman and seven sophomores

Coach Scott Jacobs and his team have been practicing everyday in the new gym trying to get the team into shape before the season begins.

With new talent and returning players, they hope to have a better season than they did last year.

The team wants to be ready to win the Peninsula Athletic League and the only way to get there is with practice.

Since there are so many freshman on the team this year, some players feel that it might be to much for one team when only five are needed on the court at a time. It is possible that play time will be limited for some.

Sean Yao, one of the returning players from last year said, “I feel were going to do better this year with all of the returning players. We have more height this year and the freshman are going to help contribute a lot this season.
