The wildly popular and hilarious sitcom Modern Family will wrap up its fourth season on May 22. It first aired on ABC in September 2009 and has been growing in popularity ever since.
It stars Sofia Vergara as Gloria Delgado-Pritchett, Ed O’Neill as Jay Pritchett, Jesse Tyler Ferguson as Mitchell Pritchett, and Ty Burrell as Phil Dunphy among others.
The show has been very successful receiving a rating of 8.6/10 on imdb.com. It has also been nominated for 14 Primetime Emmy awards, winning eight.
The show follows the lives of three families that live in Los Angeles. The families consist of Dunphys and their three kids, a gay couple and their child, and a third couple with one son, in a mockumentary format. Their lives are being taped by a Dutch TV company for a reality show that airs in the Netherlands.
Many surprising events have occurred this season that have kept viewers on their toes. Such events include Haley Dunphy going to college and immediately getting kicked out and Gloria getting pregnant.
“I like that the show captures the reality of a family, but puts a fun spin on it,” said sophomore Leah Roe.
“I like the show because it’s funny in a non-offensive way. I feel like anyone can find enjoyment watching it. It’s unique because it takes so many situations dealing with family relationships and puts it all together,” said sophomore Adelyn Yau.
Modern Family is a fun and exciting TV show that is enjoyed by all ages. As this season comes to a close, fans have eagerly been waiting to see what the season finale has to offer.
