Applewood Pizza, located across from the Caltrain Station on El Camino Real, is a wonderful sit-down place that caters to all types of people.
Although it is called Applewood Pizza, it is very versatile. Aside from pizza, the menu also has choices of salads, sandwiches, burgers, and pasta.
The decor is very simple, and there is plenty of available of seating in both the inside and outside as well. The staff is very attentive, accommodating, and efficient. Even though the wait-time for food is very reasonable, they also give the option of take-out and delivery.
I had a “build-your-own” pizza with pepperoni, sausage, and mushrooms. The crust was deliciously thick and the meat was cooked to perfection. The cheese is thick and stringy, just like every pizza should be. The grease on the pizza is the perfect amount.
In addition to “build-your-own” pizzas, there are also standard pizzas such as Margherita pizza and prosciutto pizza. Sizes range from a personal seven inch pizza to a family-sized 18 inch pizza.
The pricing is not too expense, but not too cheap and well-worth every penny.
For a fairly new place, Applewood Pizza definitely deserves recognition and could be in the running for the best slice of pizza in town.
