Located just a few minutes away from the Carlmont campus, the Belmont Library is a popular after school hangout spot for Carlmont students to enjoy a variety of engaging opportunities, ranging from finishing homework to participating in fun weekly activities.
Students go to the library mainly for the environment. It can be used as either a nice quiet place to work on homework or a place where students can safely hang out with their friends.
“I do homework and go on the computer,” said Forbes Jones. “It’s a quiet environment to study in.”
For anybody aiming for the quieter, academically conducive environment, the library provides a homework center for anyone from grades 3-12 that allows students to work on their homework from 3-6 pm Monday through Fridays.
Other students participate in exciting weekly activities. Every Wednesday at 3:30, the library hosts an activity day, along with food, that many students enjoy.
Students like Sandy Young-Cellilo are coordinators of these fun events. “What’s fun about this is that we do things like clubs that meet once a month, relays, and just fun things in general,” Young-Cellilo commented. “We are currently planning a cooking [activity].”
Whether students choose to finish their homework, work on projects, or hang out with their friends, the Belmont Library has something for everyone.
