Recently, Carlmont High School was chosen for the second year in a row as “Best of the Bay Area” by Bay Area Parent magazine, which was then recoginized by the Sacramento Bee on Dec. 15.
“This is quite an honor for us. The fact that Bay Area Parent included Carlmont High School in its selection of ‘Best Of The Bay Area,’ signals that our constant efforts towards business excellence are paying off. We are proud to be included in this recognition,” a spokesperson for Carlmont High School said to PR Newswire.
“[It’s] nestled in a tree-filled setting, this school specializes in high-level college preparatory curriculum and takes pride in the exceptional amount of parent and community involvement,” Bay Area Parent wrote on their website.
Some other local high schools mentioned are Sequoia High School, which received the parenting magazine’s silver place, and Palo Alto High School with bronze.
Carlmont High School also received Bay Area Parent’s ‘Best of the Bay Area’ award in 2010.
“It is a true honor to be recognized. I am proud that our collaborative efforts, continued focus, and overall hard work resulted in this recognition and has resulted in continued high performance for Carlmont High School. I am honored to be part of the Carlmont community – a community that consists of amazing, dedicated educators, fantastic students, and a wonderful parental community,” stated Robert Fishtrom, Carlmont High School’s Instructional Vice Principal.
Following Carlmont’s award given by Bay Area Parent, American Registry also awarded Carlmont High School to the “Registry of Business Excellence.”
