Unfortunately, the Carlmont Golf team’s season came to an end.
This past Tuesday, May 10th, the Scots participated in the CCS tournament, competing for first place.
Going in to the tournament, the Scots were undefeated and were named 2011 PAL champions.
The first round of CCS was held at the 18 hole Rancho Canada Golf Course in Carmel. This unique course is narrow with a lot of trees, and has many hazards, which makes it hard for the golfers to get a low score. The weather was both foggy and windy.
“It wasn’t the team’s best day on a hard golf course,” stated player Ryan Tierney.
The team together missed the first cut by 11 strokes. Carlmont player Patrick Soli had the lowest score of 78.
“It was an abrupt end to such a great year,” said Tierney.
The Scots still had a successful season and hope to pick up where they left off next season.
