Cartoon: Skin that doesn’t need care

Young children and teens set aside dollhouses and building blocks, turning to a new toy — skincare and anti-aging products. This surge in obsession stems from social media and influencers claiming that building a skincare routine will be beneficial later on. However, young children who slap a hundred layers of different lotions on their skin are facing worse concerns than wrinkles. Red, itchy rashes form after using skincare products that they don’t need. These rashes result from contact dermatitis, a skin reaction caused by specific allergens in some skincare products. Parents should teach their children that having a skincare routine isn’t necessary, especially at a young age when their skin doesn’t need products. (Grace Stiefel)
