Cartoon: An old man’s race

This year, the final candidates for the presidential election are 81-year-old Joe Biden and 77-year-old Donald Trump. One of the prominent cases against the election of Biden is his mental agility due to his old age, which in turn caused his supporters to point out Trump’s old age as well. To counter concern, Biden had a surprising response during an interview with Robert Hur. He delivered a stirring speech about his vice presidency, proving his memory was intact, twisting his elderliness into wisdom. While some people still worry about his health in the long term, others point out that Biden represents the U.S. population as a whole, which is getting older every year. While age may be a factor to consider in how someone might perform, it shouldn’t be the defining factor in this upcoming election. (Keira Sarmiento)
