Students are making their way to Santa Clara’s Klub Ice in the Avalon nightclub to hang out with friends and dance the night away.
The club’s appeal is in its ability to attract students into spending their evenings dancing with friends and having a good time.
“It’s basically a place where a ton of students do what school dances let them,” stated a student who’s identity is being withheld.
Under 21 clubs are rising in popularity among some Carlmont students. Ages 14 to 17 are admitted into Klub Ice’s building.
Teen clubs such as Klub Ice are unfortunately typically known for a more scandalous reputation.
“[Klub Ice] appeals to sex, like adult clubs. It’s really alarming to most parents,” the student mentioned. “People go there to hook up too. It’s essentially a place to go do things you can’t do at school [dances].”
Whether or not the club upholds this reputation, is yet to be really confirmed.
“I went [to Klub Ice] for a birthday party,” said the student. “If people do go, I recommend [going] with a group of friends.”
Events are decked out with fun themes that attract teens. A line usually forms outside of teenagers wanting to enter the club on these nights.
Events are usually held on Sundays, but the next event is on Wednesday, December 21 and 28 to promote the new “Winter Fresh” events. Admission is 15 dollars. Klub Ice is found in the Avalon nightclub on 777 Lawrence Expressway in Santa Clara.
