Scots Varsity Boys Basketball finished off their season strong with two nail biting games.
On Wednesday, Feb. 9, the Scots faced Jefferson High School in a neck to neck game. Both teams competing for first place in the division, the game came down to the wire. The outcome all came down to the last few action packed minutes of the game. In the fourth quarter, the Scots were up 47 to 46. With less than one second left on the clock, a Jefferson player threw a desperate off balance shot into the air, and it fell through. Jefferson won 48 to 47.
Following Wednesday’s exciting game, Carlmont had experienced another heart stopper on Friday, Feb. 11. Carlmont faced Hillsdale at home in a quad game. Similar to the game before, Carlmont and Hillsdale battled it out again. Within the last fifteen seconds of the game, Carlmont was ahead by 1 point, and Hillsdale had control of the ball. With the clock running out and Hillsdale in possession of the ball, junior Jacob Cox made a critical steal, and smartly held possession of the ball until the clock ran out. Carlmont won with a score of 29 to 28.
“If we had not won, then we wouldn’t have been able to achieve first place. It also puts us in good rhythm going into playoffs,”stated junior, Brandon Stovall.
Way to go Scots!
