Up until their battle against Aragon, the frosh-soph volleyball team was undefeated. In a crushing third game, the Scots lost 13-15.
It all came down to what team could play the best defense. With both teams taking aggressive swings, it was hard to pick up every shot.
Libero Erin Alonso commented, “We weren’t really energetic and we just assumed we were going to win since we were undefeated.”Energy was a big factor contributing to the loss.
In the third game, at 13-13 the Scots were nervous and tentative. On the sidelines, one could see they were struggling to keep their spirits up.
Coach Taylor Chung said, “It was a hard fought road game. As an experienced coach, I have seen many best two out of three matches go how yesterday’s match went and it’s hard to win a game three when you have murdered in game two.”
Although this loss was disappointing, it has just made the Lady Scots more determined to work harder.
This past weekend, the Scots won first place in their tournament, beating their notorious rival Menlo Atherton.
The next game is Thursday, Oct. 25 against Mills High School. The Scots are hoping to score another win and continue the season with determination.
