The girls varsity soccer team won both of their last two games. They dominated the first game, on Friday Dec. 7, against Gunderson at Palo Alto High School. They won this game with a score of 7-0.
On Saturday Dec. 8, they defeated Palo Alto High School with a score of 1-0.
“Gunderson is not the best team out there, so we will have more of a competition later. Talia had a hat trick that game,” said Devon Maruyama Reed.
On Saturday, the Palo Alto team was of more competition. Megan Stewart said, “We played well in the defense today, but the offense could have done better in the front.”
Carlmont got lucky when Palo Alto got called on a foul inside the 18 yard box, giving Carlmont a direct penalty kick. Carlmont’s Mary Cochran was the person decided upon to take the kick. Without hesitation she took the kick and it was a nice clean goal.
For the rest of that game it was a fairly even battle between the two teams.
When asked if she believes Carlmont will play well this year, Fahazia Aziz responded with, “it looks like we will play really well this year.”
