Carlmont’s varsity volleyball team was in for a heart bounding game against Aragon’s varsity team on Sept. 29.
The beginning of the game was not easy for the Lady Scots when the first point was made by Aragon. Each team continued to work hard, with slamming spikes and fast-paced passes.
At the end of the first game, Aragon had won 25 to 12. Carlmont pushed into the second game and were able to unite themselves. “We all worked really hard and found it in ourselves to be strong and beat Aragon,” commented senior Ashley Duba.
As a result, Carlmont was able to pull through and beat Aragon 20-25 in the second game, 25-23 in the third game, 25-18 in the fourth game, and in the fifth Carlmont won 15- 10.
The Lady Scots were excited to finish such a competitive team that had strong offense, blockers, and deep servers.
As the final whistle blew, the volleyball team cheered and congratulated themselves for working hard and pushing themselves to win. “The highlight of the game was obviously our big win, we definitely pushed forward and were able to beat a strong opponent,” said Kallan Bedard.
Volleyball’s varsity team has a good chance at making it to CCS, if they pull together and work hard to reach their goal. Their hard work and compassion for volleyball can be seen in next week’s game on Oct. 3 at Menlo-Atheron at 5:15 pm and frosh-soph at 4:00 pm.
