The Carlmont Girls Tennis team plans on playing their hardest and winning the Central Coast Section (CCS) tournament.
The matches begin on Nov. 5, when six Lady Scots played matches at Burlingame High School and San Mateo High School.
Cory Sidel and Mar Burgueno both had a bye in the first round of CCS. Their next matches are at Burlingame.
Morgan Watson and Cassidy Sobey, the first doubles players, have a tough match against El Camino, while Zoe Wildman and Michelle Guan, the second doubles players, have a match against Woodside. Both matches are at San Mateo.
Despite last year’s lost in the second round of CCS, the team plans on playing their hardest and doing the best they can.
“Our team will be focused and ready to play difficult matches,” said Sydney Cho. “We have a good chance to win CCS.”
The Lady Scots have been working hard for weeks. The coaches have made changes to the line up in order to give Carlmont its best chance at winning.
“We tried to make our doubles teams stronger,” said Coach Paula Sobey. “Our singles are solid. We just had to make some minor adjustments to the doubles teams to make them the strongest they can be.”
The Lady Scots began their training over the summer and feel that they have improved a tremendous amount since then.
Lady Scot Snehal Pandey said, “More players have come to practices and each individual player’s mental focus has increased. We definitely have the hunger and willpower to win CCS. We will do better than last year because we it would be a waste to train so hard for so long and not get anywhere with it.”
The Lady Scots want to end the season with a victory.
