“Master of None” is a new Netflix original series created by and starring Aziz Ansari.
This witty show follows the main character Dev through his life in New York City. The 30-year-old actor tries to court Rachel, a charming and stylish publicist, throughout the first season.
“Master of None” has an extremely diverse cast and touchs on important topics such as the struggles faced by immigrants and minorities, while still maintaining a pleasant humor.
The show takes a playful angle on growing up in the tech generation. It pokes fun at the screen-obsessed social media age.
The first season of this show premiered Nov. 6 on Netflix.
“Master of None” is only available on Netflix, and all 10 episodes are available at once, unlike traditional TV shows, where the audience must wait a week for a new episode.
That is the perk of Netflix originals, which have been gaining popularity rapidly. Some of Netflix’s best hits have been Orange is the New Black and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, and this show definitely has the potential to match their popularity.
Ansari, best known for his role in “Parks and Recreation,” is filled with wit. He had much success as a stand up comedian and now is taking on this role as a lead very well.
“Master of None” is rated for mature audiences. Netflix gives the show an age 15+ common sense maturity rating.
