After the first 66 games led up to it, the NBA finals are finally here.
At the start of the season, there were 30 teams, but by the start of May, there was only 16 left.
These finals have been widely anticipated and many Carlmont students that are excited to see how the tournament turns out and which team can pull away with the championship.
Sophomore Tristan Gasperian said, “I am looking forward to the NBA finals because I like watching basketball and the games are very exciting.”
The tournament only has six team left: the San Antonio Spurs, Oklahoma City Thunder, Miami Heat, Indiana Pacers, Philadelphia 76ers, and the Boston Celtics.
The San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder have already reached the semifinals and the other teams are still battling it out in the quarterfinals.
Sophomore Jack Tilly said, “I would like to see the Heat win because they are from Miami and there are a lot of nice golf courses in Florida.”
Other students are already disappointed at the outcome of the first round, freshman Brian Gordon said, “I was really mad when the Chicago Bulls lost because they were really good throughout the year until Derrick Rose got hurt.”
With the championships still to come, the playoffs have thrilled people from across the country.
