These Cheerleaders don’t just hold pom poms and shout, the Carlmont High School Cheerleading team placed third out of nine in their division in a competition on November 7 as they earned a spot in the nationals competition.
The competition started at 8 in the morning and ended at 2:30 in the afternoon. It was a rainy day, though their spirits were still high.
When asked about how her thoughts on the competition, Rachel Parker said, “We have worked very hard and it is kind of scary competing. Our main goal is to go to nationals in Los Angeles.”
After performing at 1 p.m, November 7, there were smiles on all their faces. After the competition Coach Baker said, “The girls did really well for their first competition, though there are always things that you can improve on.”
With exciting news of placing third out of nine in their division, the CHS team qualified for going to nationals in March.
“I know the routine will get harder, but I am really excited that we are able to go to nationals,” said Shila Hasanoff.
