TUNED IN: Be the Voice That Saves a Life will be coming to the Redwood City Fox Theatre on Sunday, May 20 at 4:00 PM. The event will raise funds and awareness for suicide prevention and anti-bullying among teens, as well as host rock band Parachute.
Over the past few years, Bay Area school districts have experienced teen suicides. In 2009, five students of the Palo Alto Unified School District committed suicide as well as another student of Harker School in San Jose this October.
TUNED IN: Be the Voice That Saves a Life aspires to teach Bay Area teens that suicide is not a solution and how friends can help a teen who is contemplating suicide. The event also wants to show teens what they can do if they, or someone they know, is suffering from bullying.
The rock band Parachute will also be at the event. They have toured with bands such as The Plain White T’s and are said to “not only make amazing CD’s, but are all very talented musicians who have never ending energy live” by fans.
This event is for 8th to 12th graders only and IDs will be checked. Tickets are $25 each and can be purchased at http://tickets.foxrwc.com/
