This week, Carlmont students have been having fun acquainting themselves with the new French exchange students.
These French exchange students, who are being hosted by a few Carlmont students in French, arrived last weekend, and are leaving at the end of Spring break. Fortunately, these students are able to speak English quite well.
Kilian, who is hosted by Melinda Highton, is 15-years-old. When asked why he wanted to visit America, Kilian responded, “I love California, I wanted to see American culture and background, know American people. It is very cool!”
Carlmont’s Gary Martinez is also hosting a French exchange student, Vincent. When Vincent was asked what he enjoys about Carlmont, he responded, “Everything! I like the girls and very cool people. I also like to watch the track team because I like track.”
Remy, who is being hosted by Scott Peters, also agreed to be enjoying himself, “I like all the teachers, they are very cool. Carlmont is also very big, my school is smaller.”
Remy and Vincent also enjoy many of the same sports that Carlmont students do. While Vincent enjoys running track, Remy enjoys basketball and soccer. They both also enjoy the various shops at the Hillsdale mall and the Carlmont shopping center as well.
Many Carlmont students are appreciating the time they get to spend with these foreign students and are using it as a chance to learn about another culture.
