Cardi B performs while pregnant at Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival this year after releasing her debut album, “Invasion of Privacy.”

Cardi B became popular with her hit song, “Bodak Yellow” last year, making records along with its release.

Since her hit single, the former stripper’s fame has skyrocketed as a result of fans not only loving her music, but her outgoing personality.

2017 was her year, with “Bodak Yellow” becoming the longest running No. 1 on Billboard’s Top 100 song by a female rapper and Cardi officially becoming a Grammy-nominated rapper.

Despite these statistics, many still deny Cardi B’s obvious talent and refuse to give her credit for her accomplishments.

Her new album, “Invasion of Privacy,” is a response to those haters and skeptics.

The album, although it shows Cardi’s vulnerability, is still very upfront and energetic like her previous songs.

Her voice acts as her only instrument. Her accent gives a punch to each verse, making anything she says sound more glamorous and superior to other rappers. Her music is usually somewhat comical while also being very tense when it comes to showing her dominance amongst others. She does not need a heavy track to attract her audience; her voice and her verses do it for her.

In her first track, “Get Up 10,” Cardi sets the tone of the piece, giving her audience an explosive start to the album.

From the start, she calls out those who told her she could not succeed as a female rapper. She raps about her success and how her popularity has escalated dramatically: “B**ches hated my guts, now they swear we was cool / Went from makin’ tuna sandwiches to makin’ the news / I started speakin’ my mind and tripled my views.”

Some of her lines are hilarious, but others are outright clever. In “She Bad,” Cardi is able to infuse both hilarity and wit into her message. She mocks those who did not accept her previous adult entertainment career and proves that her fame will remain: “Write a verse while I twerk, I wear Off-White at church / Prolly make the preacher sweat, read the Bible, Jesus wept.” This track proves that Cardi is not only a one-hit wonder; her fame and impact on the hip-hop community will last forever.

“Invasion of Privacy” overall proves her worth in the hip hop scene. She is a gem amongst the rest of the rappers today.

Cardi B is riding on a wave of success at the moment, but any signs of the end of this wave are not in sight. She is already dominating 2018.
