On Oct. 7, Hamas, a Palestinian militant group, fueled an ongoing conflict over territory and Palestinian freedom with an attack on Israel. Among the culminating factors of the war are disputes over Palestine’s right to consider itself a country and Israeli military occupation. On Oct. 14, Israel announced they were planning a ground invasion and warned Palestinians to evacuate the Northern Gaza Strip within 24 hours. The evacuation order left 1 million people without aid and nowhere to go. (Shiyo Ohashi)
