The Carlmont Lady Scots travel to Salinas to face the Salinas High School Cowboys in a CCS volleyball showdown on Nov. 14.
Nov. 14 will be the first and only meeting of the teams this season, with the Lady Scots going into the game knowing very little about their opponent.
This did not stop senior Charlotte Jackman from keeping high hopes for the game, saying the Lady Scots have “a good chance to win the game.”
While the Lady Scots do not know much about the Cowboys, Jackman does know they “lost to Burlingame.” Â This is the same Burlingame team that the Lady Scots defeated three separate time this season, twice in league matches and once in a tournament.
Senior Bailee Roces knew a little bit more about the Cowboys in that they have “loud, crazy fans.”
According to senior Ella McDonough, the Lady Scots prepared for these fans by “listening to Screamo at practice.” Screamo is a louder, more aggressive version of emo music.
The drive to Salinas is an hour and a half, but the Lady Scots do not think it will affect the game or how they play.
McDonough and Roces called the drive “annoying” with Jackman pointing out that they all “travel for club so we’re used to it and it will be fine.”
Maxpreps.com, using their ranking algorithm, determined the Lady Scots are the fourth most likely team to win CCS and the Cowboys are fifth most likely. Â With these teams ranked so closely, the game will surely be a close one.
