It’s the new school year, and COVID-19 has changed many students’ situations. The Alvord family, in Nashville Tennessee, returns to school full-time, but with modifications and safety precautions.

Phoebe Gulsen is a senior and is Editor-in-Chief of the Carlmont Journalism Scotcenter program. She produces mainly human interest and social justice videos, in hopes of providing a deeper story through local news. Gulsen is a graduate of the 2021 Boston University Summer Journalism Institute and over the past three years, has earned national and international awards for her work. She takes part in several extra-curricular activities, including advanced choir, varsity lacrosse, and philanthropy work through National Charity League.
