The girls tennis team had a winning streak of 4-0 for their new season.
After making it to the Central Coast Section last year and almost winning the Pacific Athletic League, they hope to make it back this year and have yet again another successful season.
Junior Pareesa Darafshi, who has been on the tennis team since her freshman year, said, “We lost a lot of good seniors last year but a lot of new players are stepping up and helping the team win.”
The team may have lost key players, but with new players the team has worked hard trying to get as good as last year. The girls have chemistry and have been working together in practices and games.
The goals this year for the team is to succeed in the PALs.
“We want to win PALs this year because that hasn’t been done for girls tennis in a while. Last year’s season we made it into either the second or third round of CCS and lost,” said Darafshi.
Practicing during the week has helped these girls with their success in the beginning of the season. Each girl’s work and dedication is contributing towards all their wins. They plan on continuing to work hard and meet their goals of having a great season.
Junior Neeshae Wain said that her goal for the team’s season is “to get to PALs again. The team has been practicing a lot and has been successful with a record of 4-0.”
The team hopes for the winning streak to continue through the season and get far in PALs and CCS.
