For the first time since 2009, the Jonas Brothers are back together to release their newest single, “Pom Poms” as a part of a new studio album to be released in later 2013.

The teen pop sensations have been on hiatus as the three brothers have been busy with other projects, such as solo careers and Broadway performances.  Many fans questioned whether or not they would get back together, but they do not have to wait any longer for an answer.

“I’m seriously so excited about their comeback,” said freshman Annie Klups.

The brothers’ single, “Pom Poms” was released on April 2, 2013, to the excitement of many fans.

“I was counting down the days until it came out,” said Klups.

Joe, Nick, and Kevin have created a new sound, leaving behind their pre-teen themes and dabbling into larger, more mature themes and music styles. “Pom Poms” deviates from their previous style and attempts to reach an older audience, targeting fans who have grown up with them and no longer have the same music tastes.

The brothers move away from their Disney reputation and attempt to establish themselves as a separate, new band.

“The song definitely sounds different from their old stuff. but I really like the beat, it’s good to dance to,” said Klups. “And while I miss their old stuff, I don’t mind that they’re switching it up a bit.”

In addition to being their first record released since 2009, both the single and album are released by a new record label. Previously, they were with the label Hollywood Records, who have released other hit albums from teen stars such as Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez.

The small change from their Disney and preteen days has certainly brought about good things. “Pom Poms” presents new rhythms and tunes that fans can look forward to listening to on their new record. It is different, but it has potential and left fans waiting anxiously for more.
