Beyond the Beat Ep. 3: Lil Nas X knows what he wants

On this episode of Beyond the Beat, hosts Kiana Beigi and Serenity Corbett review the popular song, ‘THATS WHAT I WANT’ by Lil Nas X. They feature Max Sinha, a Lil Nas X fan.

Lil Nas X once again demonstrates his ability to blend genres with this hit song. He also uses the song and music video to commentate on the difficulties of being an openly gay black man in such a scrutinizing environment. Despite being released in September, the music industry still feels the effects of this song.
