Carlmont’s varsity and junior varsity boys water polo teams both defeated Woodside High School’s teams.
Until the second quarter, the JV team attempted many goals was not successful in making any goals but attempted many.
JV coach Andres Galvez said that in the first quarter, the game was very competitive.
However, during the end of the second quarter, Carlmont scored a goal and which was followed by another goal. This brought the score to 2-0, with Carlmont in the lead.
During the third quarter, the the JV team continued to score on Woodside. When on defense, Carlmont kept Woodside behind them which kept the team from scoring any goals.
“The game wasn’t easy, it was pretty equal and it was fun,” said goalie Pierre Llorach.
The game finished with a score of 8-0.
Carlmont’s varsity team later dominated Woodside with a final score of 13-7.
Varsity coach Zac Wolfe said, “the boys got really physical but had good sportsmanship. There was good ball movement, unselfish play and the defense was right out.”
Next week, both teams will play against Menlo-Atherton High School.
