[media-credit id=72 align=”alignnone” width=”300″][/media-credit]Campus tours were given to several incoming freshman on Nov. 14, 2012.
These tours were different then typical “shadow” sessions. As opposed to a “shadow” experience, where the future freshman is led around by one current Carlmont student, the eighth graders were put into groups and led around the Carlmont campus by members of Associated Student Body for about two hours, and then were entertained by the Carlmont improv troupe.
ASB president Luke Li explained that this was a “opportunity for upcoming freshman to experience the Carlmont environment and how high school life is.” Li described this event as “just a snap shot of the entire experience.”
Anjelikah Chun, a current eight-grader at Central middle school said, “I really liked the tour… The campus was really nice.”
Allowing students from different schools to tour at the same time gives them an opportunity to be with their peers and future classmates, and to see all the elements of the Carlmont campus that they would like.
