Cartoon: Pilotless drones take flight

Pilotless drones are inexpensive, easy-to-use battle advantages that often shape the outcome of battles and are essential in successful air-driven attacks. Though they are sometimes considered a weapon of the modern world, drones have been in development for over a hundred years. Britain and the United States tested the first pilotless vehicles during World War 1, but they wouldn’t gain popularity until the Vietnam War when the United States first used drones in combat. Since first being tested in the 20th century, the capabilities and limits of pilotless drones have been explored and tweaked to create dangerous weapons that have changed how wars are fought today.
