On Nov. 4, Dwayne Carter, formally known as Lil’ Wayne, will be released from jail.
“Its gonna be amazing. He’s gonna be making music again, and he’s gonna make a sick album,” said Akilah Kyer. Kyer, who is one of the many Lil’ Wayne fans that have been anxiously waiting for his release.
The rapper’s tour bus was stopped and searched by authorities when they claimed they were alerted by a drug sniffing dog. Police found: four ounces of marijuana, an ounce of cocaine, forty grams of ecstasy, and a .40-caliber pistol registered to Carter. He was charged with: possession of narcotic drug for sale, possession of dangerous drugs, misconduct involving weapons and possession of paraphernalia.
“Everybody makes mistakes and do bad things. He should make better decisions in the future because he’s an icon for younger fans,” said Kyer.
Even though Carter’s been locked up in New York’s Rikers Island jail since March, he’s managed to release his new album, “I Am Not a Human Being,” on his birthday in Sept. He’s also been able to communicate with fans on a website which documents his life in the slammer.
He will soon be heading to a studio to work on more music. It is sure he will be welcomed back into the arms of his excited fans.
