With summer only three weeks away, students are starting to get excited about the two months that they have off.
But, before that happens, students must go through something that is dreaded by many.
Finals.
“Typically finals do stress me out a bit every year. They are tests that jeopardize your hard earned grades,” Tim Kraemer, a sophomore, said.
As the school year winds down, students start preparing for their final tests of the year.
“I’m not that nervous about finals because I’m prepared in my classes,” Sofia Dell’aquila, a freshman, said.
However, for the seniors, they take their finals a week early in order to prepare for graduation and take part in their senior activities.
“If I’m being honest, I’m not preparing for finals as much as I have in the past,” Tyrese Lopez, a senior said. “I’m definitely still trying to understand what’s going on in my classes, so I won’t go into my finals clueless.”
Because the school year is coming to a close, students may start to go into summer mode and not care as much anymore.
“This time of the year is considered the home stretch. It’s the time of year where school is almost over but not quite, so people have a tendency to slack off,” Kraemer said.
With summer around the corner, excitement fills the air.
“I’m so excited for summer. I’m going to make sure I live every day to the fullest, really enjoy my last couple of months here, and spend time with my friends before I leave for college,” Lopez said.
During summer, the new and upcoming school year can sometimes be in the back of students’ minds.
“I’m really excited for sophomore year because the classes I’m taking sound really fun,” Dell’aquila said.
The 2018 school year is rounding out, and seniors are making the last of their high school days memorable.
“Being almost done with high school is really bittersweet. I feel ready to move on to the next part of my life, meet new people, and see where life takes me. I’m going to miss it here a lot, but I’m also looking forward to what’s next,” Lopez said.
