The Junior Varsity Scots couldn’t overcome the experience of the Los Altos Eagles lacrosse team.
Scots lost with the final score of 7-4.
Los Altos has several players on their team who play for the high school and club teams.
Freshman Matthew Irwin, JV captain, said, “I didn’t know much about Los Altos going into the game, but what I do know is that they have a few club players and when playing they were very aggressive and had a temper.”
The game began with Los Altos getting ahead, but the Scots kept fighting and put up a battle against the Eagles making it for a close game.
In the future, the JV has several techniques and skills they plan to improve upon in their upcoming practices such as ground balls and being aggressive.
Freshman Nick Pugliano, JV captain, said, “We need to work on our ground balls in practice but our communication is always good.”
Irwin said, “We communicate very well during a game and communication is important if we plan on winning. What we plan to work on is clearing the ball from one side of the field to the other, and staying in position. To do this, we need to stay focused and have a lot of intensity both in practice and in our games.”
Communication contributed to helping the battle the Scots were facing throughout the game, but their lack of experience stopped them from being victorious against the Eagles.
Freshman Leo McBride said, “I think we had a good mentality going into the game. We definitely did a good job moving the ball around on the offensive side of things.”
The next game JV will be playing is against the Woodside Wildcats April 18 at 5:30 p.m.
