I’ve come across yet another great cafe.
Whispers Cafe really isn’t hidden, but it isn’t well known. I was pleasantly surprised by it.
I expected to enter an uninteresting, cafe like all the others, but left with a different idea. Right as I walked in I noticed the large menu covering the wall. It is much larger than most other cafe’s menus, not just by physical size.
Whispers really is a small restaurant laid out in cafe style. You walk up to the counter, order, get your number, and wait for the food. So, it is a cafe right?
Not exactly. Cafe food is somewhat renowned for being mediocre, but this one is restaurant quality.
The steak was excellent and so were the side dishes. I would have expected such food to come from a more expensive establishment, even if Whispers isn’t the cheapest cafe ever.
It was cooked just to my specifications and delivered within 10 minutes.
The food wasn’t the only great part about this cafe. It is a calm, quiet place with nearly no customers and very friendly waiters.
The setting was nice and the TV’s played popular sports networks. I could see myself coming here many more times in the future.
My time at Whispers was well spent, but it wasn’t the cheapest. It was a little less than $20 for each entree. Definitely try it out, there are so many foods to choose from.
Whispers is located at 390 El Camino Real, Belmont. It is open Monday – Thursday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Fridays from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., and Saturday – Sunday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
