Following music, film and television show success, Zooey Deschanel has yet again outdone herself with her new fashion line, “To Tommy, From Zooey.”
The brand, a collaboration with Tommy Hilfiger, was launched on April 9 at The London Rooftop in West Hollywood.
The 34-year-old New Girl star was thrilled to celebrate her fresh and trendy designs, which she spent nearly two years working alongside Hilfiger to create. The clothing incorporates Deschanel’s own personal taste with the right balance of style from Hilfiger’s team.
“I’ve always been a fan of the brand. When the possibility came up to create this collection, I was really excited. I’ve been so lucky to get to work with Tommy,” Deschanel said.
Hilfiger has expressed a mutual liking towards Deschanel, calling her “spirited” and stated, “She’s fun and funky and humorous and sort of like the all American girl next door.”
The collection features unique, flirty dresses in signature Hilfiger red, white, and blue.
“It makes me so happy when people like them. And I love all the dresses. It’s almost like I got a whole new closet full of clothes,” said Deschanel.
Starting on April 14, the dresses, which range from $98 to $199, will be available at select Macy’s and Tommy Hilfiger stores. The dresses are already available for purchase on the stores’ websites.
“I honestly love Zooey Deschanel. I had no idea she had a fashion line in the making but I think it’s great how she expresses her talents in so many different ways,” said senior Jenny Chen.
Deschanel admitted to committing herself to several projects simultaneously, enabling her to convey her creativity in as many ways as possible.
“That’s just how I keep going. I really never stop. It’s just if I’m getting tired in one creative outlet, I switch to another. With the website HelloGiggles, I co-founded it three years ago and it’s doing so well. It’s really fun and now I’m really involved in the business side of that. I’ve always had this theory and I stick by it and it kind of just works: If I like it, other people will like it. And it’s totally true,” Deschanel said.
