Gretchen McNeil will be coming to the Belmont Library on Tuesday, Sept. 13 from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. to discuss her debut young adult horror/paranormal book, Possess.
The book is centered around Bridget Liu, a fifteen-year-old girl who is trying to have a normal life when she lives among the paranormal. She can hear the voices of demons and has found she has the power to “banish them back to whatever hell they came from”.
Just when she becomes comfortable with her new found power, and even confines in a local priest, Bridget receives a message from one of the demons. She must discover the demons’ secrets in order to protect not only herself, but her loved ones as well.
Possess is getting great reviews and has a rating of five stars on Amazon.com and a rating of four and a half stars on Goodreads.com. According to reviews on Amazon, Possess is “creepy, funny, smart and genuinely scary, all at the same time” and “will grab readers from page one and not let go”.
There will be refreshments for those who attend and free giveaways. This will only be McNeil’s second appearance speaking about her book.
