Throughout all of high school, but especially for underclassmen, it is important to be yourself.
Even though there may be peer pressure to fit into the social norm, being yourself is crucial to finding friends and having a successful time at high school.
With over 500 kids in each graduating class, making connections with friends that you have a connection with is much easier and more important than changing yourself to make a fake connection. People will like you the way that you are.
Senior Lorenzo Fuentes said, “It is really important to be yourself and stand up for what you believe in because there are other people that feel the same way that you do. That’s how I made my friends when I first came to the school and I am still really close with them.”
Although it may not be easy, be yourself and you will fit in just fine.
