On Friday, Nov. 2, 2012, Carlmont’s varsity football team played the number one team in the division on their home field, the Capuchino Mustangs. The Mustangs had a very strong game with a win of 45-13.
Carlmont did start off the game very well, picking up the first touchdown of the game.The first touchdown drive was a 72 yard push. Carlmont was able to keep the lead throughout the first quarter of the game.
Tristan Gasperian said, “We fought really hard as a team and we never gave up.”
Carlmont head coach Jason Selli said, “Carlmont played a great game and had no turnovers, fumbles, or interceptions the entire game. The Mustangs also have the best running back in the league.”
This began to show starting in the second quarter, when Capuchino started scoring touchdowns.
The Mustangs had gained the lead by halftime. The second half was were the Mustangs scored the majority of their points, scoring three touchdowns in the fourth quarter of the game.
Carlmont had many good runs by Jesse Gifford and Gabe Crespin, along with good throws by Derek Gomez.
The Scots played a strong game, even though it did not go in their favor. The Mustangs are one of the hardest teams to beat.
