On Jan. 13, a woman who simply thought she could help someone by giving directions was surprised when she approached the car and saw the driver exposing himself.
On Jan. 19, another woman reported the same young man exposing himself.
With the help of security cameras in the neighborhood, the suspect, 18-year-old Spencer Aaron Kinsey, a Carlmont High School graduate, was interviewed. The Belmont Police then submitted the cases to the San Mateo County District Attorney’s office.
On the evening of Jan. 24, Kinsey was charged with two counts of indecent exposure, arrested at his residence, and booked into the San Mateo County Jail.
Long time acquaintance Steven Tsujisaka commented on the incident: “I know the suspect through school and am shocked to see Spencer Kinsey as the main suspect because he has a great heart and always treated me as a friend. Kinsey’s one of the very few peers I enjoyed talking to because he was very respectful and caring towards everyone.”
Kinsey was also passionate about cooking and dedicated to his dreams.
“…for the last six years I’ve known Kinsey, I looked up to him because of his passion for cooking and dedication in school to become his dream job, a chef,” said Tsujisaka.
Tsujisaka also added that “if he is found guilty, society would lose another good person for a completely foolish choice he made.”
