This week has been full of pole vaulting, mile running, and hurdle jumping for the Carlmont Track Team. They took on San Mateo High School and Mills High School, which both meets were at Carlmont.
Events during a meet consist of 1600 meters, 110 high hurdles, 400 meters, 100 meters, long jump, triple jump, pole vault, and many more.
Carlmont’s overall total for the meet was: the Boys Varisty 90-42 points, Girl’s Varsity 108-24, Boy’s Frosh/Soph 71-65, and Girl’s Frosh/Soph 70-65.
When asked how he thought he did Elliot Surovell said, “I was very content, although my timing was a bit off. Overall I had a great day because I had two personal records.”
On Thursday, Carlmont had a meet against Mills High School. Many members on the team were excited for the meet and looked for ways to improve.
“I felt that I could have done better in the mile, but I had a personal record in the two mile”, said Daniel Bereket.
With the season coming to an end team captain Casey Schade said, “I think there were a lot more improvements this year, we all feel like a family.”
With the season coming closer to the end, the Varsity boys also won their league.
