[media-credit id=46 align=”alignnone” width=”300″][/media-credit]On Friday, Jan. 3 through Jan. 5, students at Carlmont High School participated in FOMF, or Friends of Millard Fillmore. This event challenges students to find the answers to tricky trivia questions against several other schools in the Bay Area.
While Castelleja took first place, the Carlmont student body who participated in the event were disappointed that they didn’t take home the first place prize.
“It’s disappointing that we didn’t finish first because there was just so much determination and devotion,” commented Pasha Minkovsky. “It’s just unbelievable that we didn’t win first.”
Although Carlmont started the long tradition of FOMF, the school has only won first place once.
One may think that looking for answers to trivia is easy, but the FOMF questions are not easy to answer. Trouble finding the correct answer is considered normal.
“By the time we got our question, all the libraries had closed, so we stopped doing it until Sunday,” explained Bita Shahrvini, who participated in FOMF for her history class. “But then we started searching again and we used Google Books to get the answer.”
Although Calrmont did not get first place, there is still hope for the following year.
