On Nov. 28, the much anticipated dodgeball tournament finally began. ASB set up a tournament where students faced off against each other in the brutal game of dodgeball.
Dodgeball is a team sport where the goal of the game is to hit players on the other team with dodgeballs. If you get hit by a ball from the other team, you are out. If you catch a ball that the other team threw, the person who threw it is out. When all of the players on a team are out, that team loses the game. Dodgeball is played on the football field at Carlmont, but it is usually played in a gym or on a court.
Students formed their own teams and chose names for their teams. The teams then were entered into the tournament brackets. Sophomore Class President Reggie Chatman said that ASB created the tournament “to increase school spirit and watch somebody get hit in the face with a ball.”
The stands were packed, with an excited student body ready for an action-filled week of flying dodgeball missiles. Zach Beauchamp said, “I was excited to see people play dodgeball, but more excited to watch the people get hit by the dodgeballs.”
Many people are looking forward to see who will win the championship.
