On Saturday, November 6, the Carlmont hip-hop squad took first place in a competition at Six Flags.
“I was nervous at first, but I did my best,” remarked Emily Stambaugh.
To prepare for the competition, the hip-hop squad practiced at least once a week and performed the same routine as they did at the Homecoming assembly.
There were a dozen other squads at the competition and the performances took place on a stage over the water.
“Our coach was very proud and gave everyone a hug after we won,” recalled Stambaugh.
