Carlmont students showed school spirit by attending the event: “In It to Win It” and playing a bunch of activities hosted by the Associated Student Body (ASB) last Thursday.
On Oct. 17, ASB hosted “In it to Win it” from 5-8 p.m. with many activities students can participate in. A lot of students signed up from all grades.
“I participated in ‘In It to Win It’ to support my fellow class officers and to enjoy the many activities planned for the event for the first time,” said Ayden Dean Vitug, a sophomore at Carlmont.
“In It to Win It” was promoted by ASB on Instagram so Carlmont students could sign up, similar to many other events such as lunchtime activities and spirit week.
This event was a part of Homecoming Week, and ASB continues to work hard to set up more Homecoming events for the students at Carlmont, like the rally and the dance.
The event included many games such as capture the flag, gaga-ball, Mario Kart, dodgeball, hide and seek, and tug-of-war.
“My favorite activity was hide and seek because I saw a bunch of people hiding in great spots, and it was hard trying to find them when I was the seeker,” said Bryan Ling, a sophomore at Carlmont.
There was face painting done before the event by other students in ASB. This displayed the school spirit of the students for these activities.
All the Carlmont students were so competitive, and the ASB officers were keeping track of points to determine the class winner at the end.
“The easiest part, in my opinion, is probably organizing and setting up the games. It’s really satisfying seeing all the work you put in come to reality, and because there are 12 class officers, it’s easy for the work to be split up so no one has an overbearing amount of work,” said Audrey Gong, a junior at Carlmont and an officer of ASB.
Near the end of the event, there was a line for food and drinks with the side conversations of the Carlmont students, and then everyone wanted to play one more gaga-ball game.
By the end, the seniors were announced as the winners of the “In It to Win It.”
