A family stands next to each other to take a group picture at the Belmont Lunar New Year Celebration. In the event, volunteers provided traditional outfits for attendees to wear and take pictures in. Traditional Lunar New Year clothing typically features vibrant colors to symbolize luck and wealth and to ward off evil spirits.
The Belmont Lunar New Year Celebration brought people together on Feb. 8 with performances and cultural activities to welcome the upcoming Year of the Horse. The celebration featured a variety of performances, including traditional dances, unicycle acts, and a lion dance. Attendees also participated in craft activities hosted by the Carlmont Chinese Culture Club, including ink painting and making paper lanterns.
