Finishing the season strong with first in the league, the Scots’ boys’ basketball made it to PAL and CCS.
Carlmont’s first PAL game was held against San Mateo on February 15th. With a neck to neck game, Carlmont lost 45 to 42.
Due to Carlmont’s high ranking in the league, the team got to move on to CCS.
Carlmont’s first CCS game was against Menlo Atherton on February 22. Menlo Atherton opened up the game aggressively and hit all their shots. Throughout the first quarter, Menlo Atherton remained ahead. During the second quarter, Menlo Atherton maintained the lead. To switch up the pace, in the third quarter, Carlmont began to fight back and brought the game to a difference of 8. In the fourth quarter, Carlmont gave it their all but could not manage to grasp the win. Carlmont lost 46 to 38.
“We lost because Menlo Atherton played good defense,” stated shooting guard James Testa,”and we did our best with the talent that we had”.
Unfortunately, this was the end of the road for Carlmont.
“I think the season was a big learning experience because we had a lot of younger players and we didn’t have as much talent, so we needed more time to develop,” said Testa.
Good luck next year, Scots.
